A week ago it was announced that applications for Barnsley Live 2024 were open!
Barnsley Live is an annual live music festival spread across approximately 20 venues around Barnsley town centre.
The event provides local musicians of all ages, across a variety of music genres, a platform upon which to perform and showcase their material. Artists range from singer-songwriters to full bands.
If you haven't been to an event like Barnsley Live before, the benefit of performing is something which no musician should miss out on.
1. You will be doing your part for Charity. Every year, the Barnsley Live organisers team up with a different local charity to help raise vital funds and awareness for their work.
2. Exposure to a large and diverse audience provides an opportunity to boost your profile in the community, gain new fans, and more music streams.
3. Barnsley Live draws bands and audiences from all genres of music, increasing the potential to secure cross genre fans.
4. If you have it, people are more likely to purchase your products eg band merch, at a live performance.
5. It provides the opportunity to meet music people, for example, promoters, bands, technicians, make connections and to start building upon those relationships.
All in all, events like Barnsley Live are an excellent start for upcoming artists!
